Grovetown Bargain Center, Inc. 2008
|
Our story begins in 1981, when Linnie (Margie)
Hellinger opened a small knick-knack store in
Grovetown, Georgia. As business grew over
the next couple of years as Marge started
bringing in used and factory second furniture.
In 1985, she was able to build her first
showroom that houses our closeout and
children's furniture today.
Margie's daughter, Vickie Crawford, joined the
company in 1989. While Vickie had no
previous experience in the furniture industry,
she quickly developed her mothers love and
passion for the business.
Our original showroom.
Eventually, the mother & daughter team was able to transform the Grovetown Bargain Center into a full
line retailer offering new and quality furniture at the best prices in town. The year 1995 was another
milestone year for the company when a new 15,000sq foot showroom was built connected to our original
store. A few years later, a new warehouse was built adjacent to the new showroom.
In January of 2005, Margie decided it was time
retire and sold the business to VIckie. January
was also the month that the third generation joined
the Grovetown Bargain Center when Vickie's son,
Scot joined the business.
We feel strongly that each generation has brought
with them new and fresh ideas to the business that
has allowed us to continually evolve, however, the
basic values, ideals, and philosophies that the
Grovetown Bargain Center was founded on remain
in tact to this day.
Our current showroom.
Since 1981, our philosophy has been the same, "offer the best prices on quality furniture to maximize
customer satisfaction." This philosophy has guided us through out the years to bring us to where we are
now, and will help guide us through many years to come!
We take pride in being the oldest furniture store in Columbia County! 27 years and counting!!!
